Dear Colleagues,

Given the current measures in place to limit the spread of coronavirus, the Doctoral and Graduate Students' Council has implemented several changes to the services we provide. These changes remain in effect until further notice.

Office Hours Cancelled
No in-person office hours will be held. DSC officers will conduct business and interact with students remotely. As a result movie ticket sales have been suspended. Please contact the Steering Committee by email at [log in to unmask] to arrange to speak with one of us.

DSC Room Reservations
Room requests for events expecting 20 or more people will not be approved. Room requests for small group meetings may be approved on a case-by-case basis. 

Grants, Program Allocations, Check Requests
Please continue to submit check requests to access grants and funding allocations by the end of the Spring semester. All checks requests will be processed as before but checks will not be available for pick-up. Instead, checks will be mailed to recipients. Please email Co-Chair for Business Raj Korpan at [log in to unmask] with queries related to program allocations or check requests.

DSC Plenary Meetings
All Plenary meetings, beginning with the upcoming meeting on March 20, will be conducted via an online platform. The details are still being worked out. Information will be sent in advance of the meetings so that persons can join remotely. DSC representatives will be informed about procedures for voting on agenda items. The DSC Spring semester party scheduled to take place after the plenary meeting on April 24 has been canceled. 

The DSC remains committed to providing services and support to students of The Graduate Center. Please continue to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you have about these changes or in general. Please Note - DSC Elections are Still On!
The elections ballot for 2020-2021 Doctoral and Graduate Students' Council leadership positions will open on April 1 as scheduled, and remain open through May 1. In spite of the current crisis, it is vital that students participate in the election to ensure that governance is in place to manage student interests in the coming academic year. Voter participation is also of high importance in this election because two proposed amendments to the DSC Constitution will be on the ballot for ratification. You will receive details about these amendments in subsequent reminders, but you may contact Co-Chair for Student Affairs, Elizabeth Che, at [log in to unmask] with questions about the elections process.
