Dear Graduate Center students,

We write to you today as the Doctoral and Graduate Students' Council (DGSC) and the #OutOfStateCUNY campaign to share with you a statement in support of master's students at the Graduate Center who have been charged out-of-state tuition because of their inability to establish residency in New York last year during the ongoing pandemic.

While we welcome the recent Graduate Center and CUNY Central resolution extending the out-of-state tuition waiver for the 2021-2022 academic year, this resolution only benefits doctoral students and excludes the Graduate Center’s master’s students. We believe this much-welcomed resolution should equally benefit all of the Graduate Center’s students.

This statement has been sent to Chancellor Matos Rodríguez, the CUNY Board of Trustees, and the Graduate Center's leadership.
